In 1990, a number of persons from a wide range of backgrounds throughout our community had the vision to start the Conflict Resolution Center. Since that time, through the financial support of people just like you, we have been able to develop one of the finest alternative dispute resolution programs in Virginia with both an outstanding new facility and a far-reaching program that focuses on our mission of providing the community with innovative, affordable, and cooperative ways to resolve differences and transform relationships.
Your financial support has been an important part of that growth, and it has been deeply appreciated. It costs the Center an average of $300 to successfully mediate a case, yet we remain committed to turn no one away because of their inability to pay for our services. Your generous contributions have made this underwriting possible and what you have given has been used well. Thousands of people have benefited from our services through mediation, facilitation, or educational programs.
However, as we seek to continue reaching out to more persons throughout our community, we continue to need your support. The Conflict Resolution Center Annual Support Campaign is your opportunity to help us reach even more children, youth, families, and adults with financial hardships.
We need your help as we continue to:
Assist families in the crisis of divorce reach peaceful, healthy custody and visitation agreements
Guide first-time juvenile offenders through Restorative Justice Conferencing, helping them see the harm caused by their crimes, and stopping the cycle of recidivism
Establish peer mediation programs through our Peaceable Schools initiative
Conduct truancy mediations, allowing students, parents, and school personnel to work together to formulate solutions bringing kids back to school
